The following code works for Time Trial - Sonic (and Sonic 2). You will need a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Activate Sonic's level select (19, 65, 9, 17). Without turning off the Genesis, remove the cartidge, and insert the Sonic 3 Cartridge. Reset the Genesis console, keeping the A button held down at all times. On the title screen, press down untill you see sound test. Press A to get sound test.

Time Trial - Sonic (Tests the internal clock of the Genesis to see how fast he can run).

Level Select - Sonic (Selects a level and tests his speed in that level.)

Knuckles (Tests the internal clock of the Genesis to see how fast he can run).

Tails (Tests the internal clock of the Genesis to see how fast he can run).

Time Trial - Knuckles (Tests the internal clock of the Genesis to see how fast he can run).

Level Select - Knuckles (Selects a level and tests his speed in that level.)

Tails (Tests the internal clock of the Genesis to see how fast he can run).

Sonic 2 Level Select:

Activate Sonic 2's level select using Sonic 2's level select code. (sound test: 19, 65, 9, 17)

Remove the Sonic 3 Cartridge from your Genesis, and insert the Sonic 3 Cartridge.

Reset the Genesis to factory settings. This will remove any saved game data.

Activate the Sonic 3 level select code.

The following code will work for Sonic 2 level select and Sonic 3 level select:
