If you have forgotten your card number, password, or PIN, you can sign in to My Haywood within five days of its expiry. The Library will mail a replacement card to your address of record within seven days of receiving your call. This card can be used at any library.
The library card is not a general library pass or membership card, and does not allow use of the library's other services, including Internet access. The library card is for borrowing only and does not give you the right to enter the library building; you will be asked to leave if you violate this policy.
The library card is valid for one year, but can be renewed for up to three years with no fee. Payments for overdue materials will be charged to your card. An overdue notice will be placed on your card and is valid for 30 days. You will receive a replacement card if you return the overdue notice before the 30 days have expired. Replacement cards will be mailed to the address on record with the library. If you lose or misplace your card, you can apply for a new card at any library.
If you lose or misplace your library card, a replacement card will not be mailed until you return the overdue notice. If you lose or misplace your replacement card, a new one will be mailed to you. You must contact the library by telephone and request a replacement card.
You may not use a card to borrow items from other branches. If you attempt to use your card to borrow items from another branch, you will be given a replacement. The library does not pay replacement charges.
Circulation cards are good for seven days of borrowing. There is no limit to the number of times a patron may use equipment or borrow materials, but only one card at a time may borrow equipment or check out materials.
The library reserves the right to impose fines for any unpaid fines or fees. If overdue fines or fees are not paid in full, the patron may be denied access to the service for which the fines and fees were charged. Library fines include fees for lost or damaged materials.

Library cards are protected under North Carolina law. We will not issue a replacement card without a valid ID. Also, library cards cannot be replaced or replaced with another card when it has been lost or stolen. A replacement card will be issued only if a new library card is requested during the same timeframe.
