CanYouExplain.com is an online learning tool that includes over 40,000 videos and 4,000,000 annotated web pages to answer questions about the world and its people. (Search for "vocabulary" in the website to find definitions of words used in these sound collections.) University of Alaska Fairbanks has a collection of many of these videos, called "Vocab City," which can be accessed online or borrowed at our library.
The Chicago Sound Archive Collections include many public domain audio samples. These collections are made available via the Chicago Public Library website by clicking on the "Vinyl Playback" hyperlink; this feature allows you to access the clips in various formats, including CD and MP3, and make them searchable by title, artist, and song.
The 608 free electronic music compositions created for this site can downloaded for use in your own creative projects. The site was made possible by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
A collection of film-related sound effects built by our library staff. The collection includes the scripts and soundtracks for many classic movies and television programs, including Star Wars: A New Hope, Jaws, and The Love Bug. A bit hard to locate. Please email library@aubusinesslaw.edu for help.
